UM SEGUNDO

A poor and suffered boy sees a volant Circus for the first time and finds himself entangled by an atmosphere of great happiness. It’s the first time he finds a smile on his face. From then, he discovers that he could feel much more than he had ever felt and that life could provide him many other things.

Thus, he leaves in search of his new life and other smiles.
He goes around the world running after several circus until he becomes part of them. He gets to know people, countries, cultures, different worlds.

He turns into the best “smilemaker”, the best clown of the world, and draws crowds to see him and laugh.
However, he never finds that very first smile on his face again. Everything becomes ordinary, since he has travelled around the whole world, has seen everything and almost everybody has seen him.

The wish of smiling turns into an obsession, a corrosive feeling. He begins to get crazy, to scare. He is no longer the same on stage, although he still can make people laugh as nobody else, but now, can also make them cry for fear or embarrassment.

As he sees himself absorbed in this absolute craziness situation he decides to withdraw to keep apart from people. He prays and searches within himself the spark to light up his smile again.
Nevertheless, he finds out only one thing: He is not able to escape from his fate once he has dedicated all his life searching for that smile, which turned him into an obsessive person as well as the great master to extract smiles from people.

He finally decides to come back for one last time, to perform and take leave of the audience that would witness his most fantastic acrobatic act.
He climbs up the trapeze with amazing serenity, holds it and flies more assured than ever, to finally reject the hands which came to grab him in the air, and falls down on the circus ring.
He pursued that smile all over his life, in all possible ways, and as a last event, he searched for it in the only place he had not searched: The Death.
